The Miniature Bible is not an effort to do to Isaiah what President Thomas Jefferson did to the New Testament. In 1804 Jefferson sat down with two New Testaments and a razor. He cut out of his New Testament every scripture that affirmed Jesus' Deity; Jefferson removed Jesus miracles. The result of his mutilation of the New Testament was a work he entitled: "the Philosophy of Jesus of Nazareth". A one writer said of Jefferson's new testament, 'Jesus was no more and no less than a good, ethical guide'.
